The new Aula, available from January 2018, is an exceptionally lightweight and hard-wearing multipurpose chair that offers superior comfort and support. Designer Wolfgang C.R. Mezger drew on decades of proven experience in the process. Comprehensive sitting tests consistently helped to hone the seat shell to perfection. Its three-dimensional form embraces people’s bodies and offers plenty of comfort and support due to its ergonomic seat and backrest contours and elasticity of the high-performance plastic.

The excellent quality of Aula’s design is its second stand-out feature. With or without armrests – the shell and frame are a harmonious unit that lend the chair a seamless look. The precise way all the parts fit and are connected places supreme demands on the materials and craftsmanship. Close collaboration with leading experts has succeeded in making all the parts of the frame from high-performance plastic, without requiring a steel core. The use of fibre-glass-reinforced Ultramid® means the chair only weighs 6.7 kg with and 6 kg without armrests.
