Tea followed by coffee: new showroom in Rotterdam

Debuts in the showroom: the new mAx folding table with Occo and Metrik

After over 15 years it was time for a change of scene. Wilkhahn Netherland’s showroom has been in the Van Nelle Factory Rotterdam since 2001. And this renowned location with its UNESCO World Heritage status is set to remain for the future too. After moving out of a building, which in the past was used to process tea, the showroom is now situated at a place on the famous site with an equally aromatic history. During the Design District Festival 2017, the new showroom in the former coffee factory opened its doors for the first time and held a party to celebrate.

It was a well-chosen date because the three-day festival with over 6,000 visitors and around 200 exhibitors is one of the country’s most important design events. “We’re delighted that in addition to our new showroom we were also able to present our three new Occo, Metrik and mAx products,” explains Hans Trilsbeek, manager of Wilkhahn Niederlande. The accompanying programme of events provided the opportunity to grapple with some interesting topics: in his Sustainability Included talk, Wilkhahn’s environmental officer Jörg Hoffmann showed the added recycling value provided by Wilkhahn’s innovative designs. And last but not least, the additional upholstery options for the Graph conference chair also attracted a lot of interest.

It’s always worth taking a trip to Rotterdam because of its impressive architecture. The Wilkhahn-Niederlande team is looking forward to your visit.
