Office-Easter-Eggs

28.03.2018 | by Wilkhahn

Easter eggs are little surprise functions that software developers like to hide in programs or browsers. As unofficial functions they’re not covered in operating instructions and often only discovered by chance. For example, in Facebook Messenger you can play basketball with someone you’re chatting to if you send them the basketball emoji. There are also Easter eggs hidden in Microsoft’s Word, which are less and less common with each new version for security reasons.

However, we did find an amusing one: If you want to generate dummy text, just type in =rand(200,99) and you’ll get pages of the same text, which varies depending on what language version of Word you have. Perhaps you’ll be able to find a few other Easter eggs in Office products and a few real ones this Sunday!

Wilkhahn would like to wish you happy Easter and a lovely start to spring.
