Wilkhahn’s tip: World Architecture Festival in Berlin

16.11.2016 | by Wilkhahn Germany

In 2016, WAF, the World Architecture Festival, will take place for the first time in Berlin. The international architecture community will be meeting up in the Arena in Berlin-Treptow from 16-18 November. At the heart of the festival is the competition to win one of the WAF Awards. Some 350 renowned architects will be presenting themselves and their projects in brief live presentations to critical and prestigious panels of judges. This year the panels include David Chipperfield, Matthias Sauerbruch, Meinhard von Gerkan, Ole Scheeren and Kim Nielsen. The projects are classified according to type – from culture to transport – as well as into completed and not yet completed projects. There are also the two sections called landscape and small projects. Alongside the presentations is a wide ranging programme of presentations, exhibitions and events.
